    Sophia Petridou is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia. She received her PhD Degree and BSc Diploma in Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2008 and 2000 respectively. Her main research interest are in the areas of Optical Networks (MAC protocols), Wireless Networks (wireless data broadcasting), Network QoS, Clustering Algorithms and Probabilistic Model Checking of Protocols.

    She has been awarded scholarships by Greek Telecommunication Company (OTE) for her performance in subjects of Networks and Telecommunications (1999, 2000). She is a Member of the IEEE Computer Society and serves as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Communication Systems.
